All versions have been compiled by Microsoft Visual Studio 9 2008 Professional SP2
with Windows 7 SDK. See W-Mark Kubacki's blog posts for details.

Extract the exe only distributions to MySQL's bin folder, overwriting original files.
You can use the 5.4 version files to overwrite those of a 5.1 installation.

Version differences are:

-qKAI
storage engines: MyISAM, Merge, HEAP, Partition, Federated and SphinxSE, Archive
additional modifications and SQL commands (FNV1_64, FNV1A_64 and MURMURHASH2) for qKAI
-Sphinx
storage engines: MyISAM, Merge, HEAP, Partition, Federated and SphinxSE as well as Archive, CSV, Innobase, Blackhole etc.
